Stop dinnertime battles before they begin with these kid-friendly dinner ideas!
As parents, we have to pick our battles (or go crazy!) and dinnertime is a big one for lots of families. It’s the end of the day and everyone is tired and hungry. Kid-friendly dinners make this time of day a lot easier!
I consider kid-friendly meals to be ones with familiar flavors and foods – whatever that means for YOUR kids. So if your kids like spicy foods, go for it! But I know most kids don’t, so there won’t be any in this particular meal plan. I tend to stick to the basics when it comes to kid-friendly (although often with a twist!).
This week’s kid-friendly meal plan features some childhood comfort food flavors. I mean, what kid doesn’t love chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and sloppy joes?? I also made sure to include some kid-friendly grown-up foods as well, like jambalaya and chicken and potatoes.
The meatball sandwich and caesar salad is from my actual meal plan just the other night. My whole family loves these sandwiches and they are ridiculously easy. I like to make a big batch of homemade meatballs to keep in the freezer for meals like this. But this time, I just used frozen meatballs from Costco, which are also super yummy and so easy for weeknight dinners.
If you’re stuck on what to plan for this week’s dinners, I hope this inspires you!
